Shelley joined EY in September 2017 and leads cybersecurity for the Southeast Region. She has more than 19 years of corporate experience in cybersecurity, strategy, hardware, supply chain, operations and procurement.
Prior to joining the firm, Shelley served as the Senior Vice President of Alliances & Services at Protegrity, a data security company. Before that, Shelley spent 18 years at IBM serving in a variety of roles, rising through the ranks to become a Vice President. Shelley also earned a law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Along with her passion for cybersecurity, Shelley is an advocate for the advancement of diversity and inclusiveness in the workforce. Shelley founded Women in Security Excelling (WISE), a group devoted to advancing women in cybersecurity.
Shelley was a 2018 finalist for the Editor’s Choice award from Women in IT AWARDS. She was also honored in 2016 as a 40 over 40 woman who’s made an impact in her field. Additionally, Shelley received a 2016 Executive Women’s Forum Women of Influence Award in the Security Corporate Practitioner category.
Shelley is a frequent public speaker and has been interviewed by CNBC, Huffington Post Live, Fox News NY, Reuters and featured in Fortune, Forbes, Tech Republic and Dark Reading.
Shelley lives in Cary, NC with her supportive husband and has a daughter who is a sophomore in college.
