Kimberly is a technical leader who who thrives as a pioneer of new technical strategies, new inventions and new business models. She was sought out to establish the application of the IBM Watson AI research technology to solve real-world industry problems on the dawn of Watson’s public debut on Jeopardy in 2011. Since then she chartered many first of a kind approaches for developing and evaluating success of a commercial AI solution in cancer care. Examples include defining data requirements for analysis, pioneering the normalization approach for certain types of complex patient data discoverable from natural language sources and developing (Java) algorithms used by Machine Learning models for recommending cancer treatments. An international inventor with 10 issued patents to her name, Kimberly lives in Cary, NC with her husband and two STEM-loving daughters.
